Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

Using these forums is a pain at the moment due to all items on the page failing to load in Firefox (routing issues that I've raised elsewhere).

I go to a topic and start reading it, meantime Firefox shows it is still loading the page. I scroll down the page reading until about 45 seconds later the missing items on the page time out. Firefox then jumps back up the page to where I first came in to the page and I have to scroll down to find where I was.

Anyone any ideas on how to stop that happening.

Go to a decent ISP Lips_are_sealed

Seriously I don't see the problem but I do have two advantages

AdblockPlus is running and Kaspersky is blocking a load of things as well

It's items located at www.plus.net that don't load!

Same answer except this is what Kaspersky blocks

Does another browser behave any better?

Re: Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

It sounds like your browser is blocking certain javascripts from loading. Javascript is required to use the community and the jumping up the page you are experiencing is the result of clicking hashed links that would otherwise be intercepted by a script to do something else (the drop down menus for example).

Try a different browser and disable any script blocking software. I am sure you have had no problems in the past? Not sure why it would suddenly happen now..

Re: Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

It's nothing to do with Javascript.

One of the items that doesn't load is https://www.plus.net/bundles/plusnetplusnetassets/images/logo-119-97.png

The only browser that works properly is Opera if I use the VPN option so that I appear to be on a different IP.

IE doesn't jump back, but obviously doesn't load everything on the page.

I'd rather not have to use a different browser just for these forums because Plusnet are not prepared to reverse a block induced by an issue on their side.

Re: Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

I see. That means that its blocking the page from fully loading and thr javscript functions require the page to be loaded before executing. The referenced image is in the header logo for browsers that do not support SVG format images so it is a backup image.

Are you able to visit the link to that image from your browser manually? I can't say for sure what's happening as it could be your connection or browser by the sound of it.

Re: Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

No I can't load it manually. I can't access anything on 212.159.*.*

I'm just trying to find acceptable workarounds for the block.

Re: Stopping community pages jumping back up when all items fail to load

Sounds like a problem with your connection. I doubt we are blocking you access to the IP of the website... but worth checking? This is all very odd..

Well there you are wrong. Chris asked for the block to be removed before Christmas, but for whatever reason it appears your security team won't do it.

Have you tried following it up with the community team? There isn't much I can do about this I'm afraid.

Yes, as I posted Chris was supposed to be asking for it to be removed.
