Please could you un-archive one of the mailboxes on my force9 account. Mailbox beginning M and I'll step up the pressure on my daughter to sort the wheat from the chaff. Many thanks, twillcomp.

Hey @ANTAR,

I see you’ve contacted our support team about your email issue. However, it appears that the problem you’re experiencing is not related to the archiving of your mailbox.

Hey @louiseandben

I’ve submitted the request to unarchive your mailboxes. These requests typically take up to 5 working days for our operations team to process.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here! (Part 2)

Hi.  Please unarchive my inbox. I didn't see any warning emails about approaching my usage limit.  Once unarchived, I will manage my usage down to well below the 1GB limit. Thank you.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here! (Part 2)

Follow up - having spent half an hour on the phone to Plusnet today, I was told that as I haven't received any email notification telling me that my emails have been archived, they cannot check whether any of them have been.

All I have left in my inbox as of a few days ago are the emails starting on 4th November 2024 and those more recent than that. I have not deleted them.  I have not changed anything on my computer, no changed settings, no new operating system, etc.. I am at a loss to know where my older emails are and really need to get them back.

On the phone, Plusnet were insistent that they could not help because they could not raise an internal enquiry if I haven't received an email telling me that they have been archived. I really struggle to understand why Plusnet could not just check anyway to see whether any archiving has happened in relation to my email account, despite my not receiving a notification email about it.

Any suggestions please? Thank you very much.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here! (Part 2)

A mailbox can become "empty" arising from a number of scenarios...

  • FUP violation after weeks of over 75% utilisation notices and two weeks of over 100% utilisation - this leaves records in the ticketing system (see the link below) and notification emails sent to the contact email address - front line staff will look for this as a sign of archiving
  • Non-use of a mailbox for 90 days - this places a notification email in the unused mailbox - this does not leave a record in the ticket system and therefore can be missed by support staff
  • The operation of a POP3 email client unhelpfully configured to remove mail from the server - this has been seen as user error setting up a new client ... or a malicious attack (hack) on the mailbox following a compromise of the the mailbox's access credentials
  • The setting up of a new IMAP client - on some devices and some email applications, it is necessary to set the IMAP root folder to inbox
  • Accidental deletion by the user

If you access the mailbox using webmail, do you see more emails?
