Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

After a mail account is unarchived, I believe I am correct in understanding that the "exceeding FUP" process is reset, so it should be 4 weeks before it gets archived again.  Ideally one should not risk or depend on this being the case.

Hi

Please can mine by unarchived again.  Are there any guides?  How can I see the mailbox capacity from webmail?

Thanks

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

Thanks for getting back in touch @RP24. I've raised a request to retrieve the mailbox from archival today and will let you know once this has completed. Regarding the size of the mailbox, we'll send you emails leading up to the archival of the mailbox, detailing how much storage space is currently in use. As yours has been archived two months in a row now, I would strongly recommend going through any old emails you've already read and getting rid of them if they're no longer needed.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

Please can you restore my wife's mailbox [Removed]

All of her important emails have disappeared and I presume they have been archived. We've not had a archive email notification to confirm this.

Seems rather old fashion to archive everything and not have a aged email archive process that the user and manage.

Thanks.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

If the archive process left stuff for the user to manage (which they had already failed to do) then the process would not be achieving its objective of reducing the use of on line storage space.

Are you monitoring the default mailbox? Invariably users who report that they have not received warning emails discover they have not been monitoring the postmaster@ mailbox. You can also find the utilisation warning notifications in your account tickets accessible via the portal. See the link below.

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

That's not necessarily so, a process that automatically archives emails older then 3 months for example or when the mailbox hits the size limit to cold storage would reduce the load on the hot storage servers. A user could then access the cold storage mailbox and move anything back into hot storage without requiring intervention from Plusnet.

Yes, I monitor the default mailbox.

Hot or cold as you describe it - it is still on line. Check your ticket history.

Is there any possibility that you are accessing the account with a POP3 client on one of your devices?

Re: Archived mailbox? Request for it to be unarchived here!

I think you are missing the point of a tiered storage architecture, anyway, it's a moot point as it isn't available.

Mailbox is restored now, so all good.

@DD2 This will be picked up sometime tomorrow by staff - repeat posting is not going to make it happen any faster.
