My mailbox "I**C" has suddenly emptied. I had an email this morning but had recently been through emails and removed alll large attachments in Outlook, thinking that would help. Howevre, a very large number of emails appeared recently on my iphone, many showing as unread all in the "I**C" mailbox although originally sent to the other plusnet mailboxes.

I am wondering if this may be due to the recent switch over to mail only account.

Any advice would help and if you can you restore the mailbox please that would be appreciated - it is not my main mailbox but the one I use for charity work.

Hiya @sueandjohn, I'm sorry that you are having issues locating some of your sent mail. I have checked the account and unable to see anything to suggest that any mail has recently been archived.

 

So I can do what I can to assist further with this for you, can you please advise if you're viewing your mail via webmail or a mail client? If using a client, do have a setting to clear sent mail after a certain period of time? Has any other mail gone?

Hiya @LoneBee, I am sorry that your mail has unexpectedly gone. It does look like it was still over size and been archived.

 

I have sent off the request to have this unarchived for you. I'm really sorry for the disruption this causes to your charity work in the meantime, whilst we do advise to allow 72 working hours for this to be actioned, recent requests I have sent have been picked up in less than 24 hours so you should hopefully have these back soon.

I will try and back up the older emails to an Archive folder once they are restored.

All of my emails disappeared last Thursday, I think without warning.  I assume they have been archived.  Please restore them.  I have two Plusnet accounts.  Please restore the emails (including sent) on the account MP...(not the inactive account ending ...42).

I think I must have exceeded the size limit.  I recently moved my POP3 emails (including sent) to IMAP.

The mail hasn't been restored yet (Saturday morning) I have to report that suddenly all the mail in the sent items folders for the same "I**C" mailbox suddenly disappeared as I was looking at them to pick up on a converstion.

As advised by @LaurenB, the task can take up to 72 working hours to be picked up, once it is, and is actioned, all of your emails should return. Just make sure you delete unwanted emails so that this issue doesn't occur again. Smiley

Please can you restore one of my email accounts that was archived in 2020 because of inactivity. It's the mailbox beginning with s. If it helps, I only need mail for 2022 to be restored.

So I can assist with this for you, can you please send me over a PM with the full mailbox name so I can be sure of which one this relates to. Can you also advise when you last logged in to this mailbox and when you last received an email about mail being archived due to inactivity?

The emails came back today to my I**C mailbox and I have been trying to sort them out. I successfully moved older mail in outlook to an Archive folder on my laptop but a huge number of emails arrived in the I**C mailbox on my iphone (over 3,000 dating back to 2013 sent to all my plusnet email addresses). I have been going through the iphone ones and tried to delete most of them but now that mailbox and associated sent items has emptied again suddenly on both the phone and from Outlook, including todays emails.

Is there some sort of glitch?

Any help would be welcome

I'm really sorry to see you're having issues with your e-mails still.

I suspect this may be down to one of the mail clients rather than a server-side issue on our end as we haven't archived them again. Are they setup as POP3 or IMAP, or a combination of both?

From what I can see we haven't archived your e-mails.

Have you received a message to advise we have done due to inactivity if you've not accessed your mailbox for some time? 

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

The account is set up as IMAP on all devices. The outgoing server in Outlook keeps reverting to smtp.plus.net after changing it to relay.plus.net. It is set to relay.plus.net on phone.
