Help I think my email has been hacked

Apologies I don't understand how this works and what the terms mean.

My care4free.net email was hacked and I want to delete that email address but don't know how.

@Rose4, what makes you think your e-mail has been hacked? Often people think they have been hacked when they get a lot of returned e-mails which weren't sent from their address, but just have their address in the From line.

They sent me emails actually from my care4free.net email address asking for a bitcoin ransom

I doubt that they did. They just spoof the From address - you can actually set that to be anything you like. If you look at the full headers you will see where it really originated from (most people don't know how to look at the full headers, otherwise the scam wouldn't work).

They try to scare people into paying ransoms - it is social engineering rather than hacking.
