This is nothing to do with inbound connections, but only outbound (SMTP) configurations.

Setting the SPF record as described solved my problems sending to Gmail too. Many thanks for this tip, been troubling me for a while.

I applied the above fix and now its all working; I can again send to Gmail addresses.

More and more, incoming email providers are insisting upon DKIM as well as SPF.

Hosting email has never been an easy game, and the latest implementation of sending & receiving ISPs insisting upon DMARC validation of DKIM & SPF has only made it worse.

Still no joy this morning - this is my entry.  Mail still goes out as ***@f9.co etc and gmail rejected me again today

The Domain now reads:

Left Field; blank

Type; MX

Pri: 999999

Right Field: please-add-spf-records

It may be I need to add something different on the Right Field

I think you were missing a '9'.

I've corrected the entry, so the SPF record should be created in around 6 hours.

Latest update from the 'Support' people:

At this time there is no time frame yet in place for the email services stopping. However the plans will go ahead eventually. when a date is set you will be notified with ample amount of time to help you set up alternatives for yourself.

Still misinformed. There are no declared plans to discontinue email services.

Sounds like either they (PN) are employing those who wish to damage their employer, or PN have decided on a drip-feed scare campaign. I know which I would tend to believe.
