Re: SMTP Authentication

I'll add something on here, related to sending from home.  should I post this as a new topic ?

I use Thunderbird and recently I get the following message and I can't send mail:

"Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) ns.01383.uk timed out. Try again."

I think there is an issue with connecting through plus.net on port 587

I can send an email immediately when connected to my phone or directly from webmail, so the server ns.01383.uk is up and running.  This is actually one of my servers so I know it is up and running 🐵

thanks Brian

p.s. on the info on one of teh posts above using Port 25 will lead to problems as its not a secure port, will need to use port 587 to send

Re: SMTP Authentication

Hi @duncanbbd

I would suggest you create your own thread as this has been marked as fixed and it is a different topic/question.

Dan.
