Change rDNS

Hi all

Noticed the rDNS for my static reveals my username which isn't what i'd want.

Can this be changed to either adsb.2e0veb.com or something random?

Thanks

@2E0VEB  there are two possibilities for a change to the rDNS

1) it can be changed to <ip address>.plus.com

2) if you own a domain and can change DNS. Then provided you create a forward A record, then rDNS can be changed to that. So if you can create the A record for adsb.2e0veb.com pointing to your static IP then the rDNS can be changed to that.

I'm sure a staff member will be along shortly and then will either send a PM or raise a ticket for you to reply with details.

Re: Change rDNS

Thank you.

Already have the domain and sub pointing at this IP address. These are A+ Dynamic records due to the former ISP only allocating a dynamic ip address.

So the link is already there - and working! Mind you, if i do add an additional "A" record, i'll then have to suss out how to make that work with nginx. Am ok if it doesnt resolve to a host for now and can pick the rest us when time allows.

Alternatively, happy for it just to be the ip addy .plus.com - that said, i'd probably recommend that as the default to Plusnet as it is a little invasive for people to be sharing their username without being aware!

In that case you just need to wait for a staff member to pick this up. They'll confirm the details and then raise the request to NetOps to do the change.
