Recently I wanted to use the Static IP which I have paid since the start of my contract for work...
First I called customer support and they told me since I am not using a PN router they cant help me with the router settings. For reference I employ a AC86u. I was looking over the PN website for any instructions for third party routers and I didn't found anything. In a previous ISP I didn't need to change any settings in the router, could someone please point me to the right direction regarding 3rd party router settings for static IP?
Second, I went over to my account settings and on the Static IP details it says -> Current Status: You are currently using a dynamic IP address. No other options .... that means that the Static IP is not even set, right? So, I can only have a Static IP if I use a PN router?
Thank you for your time!
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@va1 Welcome to the forum. When you say 'Recently I wanted to use the Static IP which I have paid since the start of my contract for work...', do you mean you have at some point in the past paid the one-off £5.00 fee for a static IP, but for some reason never checked that it is active previously?

Yes, when I signed the contract I payed the £5 for a Static IP. I can also confirm that by checking my profiles on the PN website. I assumed that was enabled by default and didn't need to do anything else, but I recently figured out that if my router loses power and restarts it gets a new IP.
Good to know that I don't need to mess up with settings on my end. Now I need someone from PN to figure out why its not enabled!

When did you start with PN?

18th of January, I was looking over my Router logs and only restarted my router twice for the last 8 months. That's why I never noticed!

I think I've fixed this; the static IP wasn't assigned to the connection. I've removed and re-added it, which now shows correctly. As a result, there will be a duplicate charge on your next bill, but I'll make sure that's credited.
If you can reboot your router, or do a single disconnect/reconnect of the PPP session within your router’s interface, it should now pick up a static IP.
Sorry for the inconvenience! Let me know if there are any further issues.
