Usenet server prompting for userid/password

This happens from time to time, then someone at Plusnet chases GigaNews and the problem gets resolved.

usenet.plus.net has started asking for a username & password. It shouldn't, of course.

Just me, or are others seeing this as well?

Plusnet's news feed appears to be throwing errors at the moment (not for the first time...). I'm getting the following error when trying to update one of the newsgroups:

group microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion
200 News.GigaNews.Com
480 authentication required
quit

Has someone forgotten to put any moneyy in the meter again? 😗
