difference between Fibre broadband & Unlimited Fibre Extra

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help clarify the differences between Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra and their standard Fibre Broadband packages. Is it just about speed, or are there other differences in terms of features or performance?

Additionally, I'm considering removing the phone line from my package and sticking with just fibre broadband. It looks like this would lower my monthly price, but I'm wondering if there’s a catch. Will my broadband speed remain the same if I opt for a broadband-only package?

If anyone has experience with this or knows how it works, I’d really appreciate your insights!

Thanks in advance! 😊

@wwffan2

I'm hoping someone can help clarify the differences between Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra and their standard Fibre Broadband packages.

Both of those products are FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) services and are delivered over the copper wires to the house, unlike the Full fibre (if available) which involves installation of a new Fibre optic cable to the house. The only difference Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra and  Fibre Broadband is that the latter does not include a phone service. Other than that, the broadband is delivered over exactly the same copper wire to the house and the achievable speeds will be the same. Changing to the Fibre broadband only product does not require any physical change, its merely a discontinuation of the phone service.

Re: difference between Fibre broadband & Unlimited Fibre Extra

Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra is the legacy 80/20 product, as opposed to the slower (not extra) 40/10 service.

Fibre Broadband Is the current SOGEA product which is sold as, as fast as your line can take.
