I had this installed on the 10/12/2024 after being told this would be the best package for our busy household remote working gaming streaming etc. I was told download speeds of around 275 and uploads of around 60 to 70. In reality from early on the speeds were mainly around 30 or below download and 5 to a maximum of 15 upload. I persevered for 2 weeks for the bedding in of the broadband and have been struggling ever since. I finally rang customer service today and spoke to Ray who was pleasant professional and he tried a few different things and it seemed to have upped the speeds a little but nowhere near what I was told when ordering. The speeds have now gone back down under 30 or 30 if I'm lucky. I live in Lostock Hall near Preston Lancashire and was wondering if any one has had similar issues and if they could give me any advice. Thanks.........

@Dc9 Welcome to the forums. Unless my understanding of Full Fibre technology is extremely flawed, I think you have been told a load of - to put it politely - rubbish. A properly configured FF500 installation should give much closer to 500Mb/s, with the 275 figure being a worse case scenario. Which Hub/router are you using?
I am myself a bit of a 'novice' when it comes to FTTP, but your results point to something being horribly wrong, somewhere.
@MisterW - any thoughts, please?

How are you measuring your speed, wireless or using a direct Ethernet cable? If wireless the first thing to try is using Ethernet. This will tell us whether you have a network problem or whether it’s simply a wireless issue.

@Baldrick1 Unless the OP is using a wireless device a long way from the Hub, those reported figures do not make much sense.

@Dc9 Did you not do any testing/checking before the installation engineer left? They should not have left until you had checked and were satisfied with the job - although I have heard of some of them being 'anxious' to get away.

@Dc9 firstly, there is NO bedding in period for Full Fibre, as @jab1 says, you've been told rubbish!
As for the speeds issue, you really need to do a wired test to determine whether its just a wireless issue or there's a real problem with the service. Speeds are only guaranteed over a wired connection, there's too many variables to guarantee over a wireless one.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

There will have been an ethernet cable supplied with the Hub2 (along with a phone cable).
You must try a wired test with nothing else running in the background to confirm the speeds you are receivig at the router. It should be close to 500.
