Full Fibre 74

Hi, I have just upgraded to full fibre last Friday.

From the message I get, it's like this:

Estimated speed: 72Mbps to 80Mbps
This estimate is based on data provided by our supplier. Your actual speed will vary but should be within the estimated range.

My question is I've been testing the speed for the past few days, and I can never get anywhere near 80mbps, the max I get is always around 72mbps (not even 74mbps). But the upload speed I always get 19mbps to 20mbps which is the stated max speed. Can I actually improve my download speed closer to 80mbps? What speed do you see currently on my line? thanks.

@humorleung

I assume you mean FF78 - if so, 78 is the provided maximum speed. Allowing for a bit of overhead you're unlikely to get more than 76/77.

Are you testing on wired or WiFi.

@humorleung

Sorry, was just looking at something else and I see that the PN product is FF74

As such, 74 down is the speed that the service is provisioned at. As such, with a bit of overhead 72 is a reasonable expected speed.

Re: Full Fibre 74

The 74mbps product is actually provisioned at 80/20 although I’d agree that a throughput of 72mbps is still a reasonable speed on ethernet or WiFi.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
