Lost internet connection and get error 678. All the lights are on and I get a dialtone.

I was streaming on my TV and it suddenly stopped streaming at around 01:00AM (my TV is connected to the router via ethernet). I checked my computer and it said it could not connect to the internet. I could ping the router but loading webpages gave me error 678. I tried powering off my router and modem and back on again but to no avail. All the lights come on and show a DSL connection. I also checked in the router settings and it says it can't connect to authorize. I have a dialtone so the line is working. Any ideas?
EDIT: And just after I posted this it came back to life. Can you check to see if there is or was an issue anyhow? Thanks.

Thanks a lot for getting in touch and I'm really sorry for the disconnection that occurred last night. Checking the line has not found any faults, so if I were to hazard a guess here, I'd put this down to Openreach maintenance.
If the problems continue at all, please let us know and we'll chase this up.
