No connectivity yet router did not attempt reconnect

Hi

I saw 100% packet loss last night from around 4am. Things did not recover until I rebooted the router at 5:20am.

Now, usually my router detects a dropped pppoe connection and attempts to reconnect. This time however no logged ppp events. I am trying to ascertain if this was a fault my end (modem/router) or a ISP issue that did not present as a dropped pppoe.

I find it unlikely my reboot occurred the same time as connection was restored. But there does appear to have been some issues around the time I mention (according to what I have read this morning).

My main concern is my router did not attempt reinitiate ppp connection and seem to require manual intervention.

Now I have VoIP, this is more of a concern.

Modem is the BT VDSL2 one and router is pfSense.

@keeka from what I can see , PPPoE stayed up throughout the problems ( which appear to be resolved now - touch wood!)
