Hi All
This question is probably aimed more at staff at Plusnet?
Can someone advise me why Full Fibre 300Mb is priced at £35.99
where as Full Fibre 500Mb is priced at £32.99
with a reward card?
That does not seem reasnable or logical ?
So I think an explanation is required
see here:
https://www.plus.net/signup/choose-broadband/
Thank you

Since when has 'Marketing' been reasonable or logical😀

I kind of agree MisterW with you!
But the question still stands,
If someone would like to offer an explanation?
I am listening.
After all Plusnet you don't want to make it difficult
for your customers to make a decision in what to buy?
or not to buy😋

Sorry, why is it difficult ?, the basic 500Mb price is cheaper than 300Mb and you get a reward card as well! It's a no brainer...
If the 500Mb was slightly more than 300Mb , then you'd need to consider the reward card but in this case the reward card is just icing on the cake. If you don't like icing then you dont have to eat it... just throw the reward card away...

I'm afraid pricing decisions are 'commercial in confidence', so you're almost certainly not going to get an answer!.
Likely reasons are ,
competing with other suppliers offers
Openreach are offering discounts to ISP's on some products
either way, if I was you I'd take the 500Mb offer while its going, it may not be there tomorrow...

I have seem similar pricing "anomolies" when investigating Vodafone FTTP in my area, (no Openreach FTTP yet).
My guess is that once "you" are signed up, you will get used to the faster speed. Then, when it comes to renewing your package, the faster package will be significantly more expensive than the slower one this time around, and they are banking on you not wanting to change either package or provider.

Yes that had crossed my mind @Mr_Paul
I supose at that point you could move on like you do with car insurance ?
Plusnet has a lot of competition out there
maybe they ajusted their prices
to be more competative like
www.youfibre.com
reliability of service also comes into play
for some its better to pay a little bit more money
and get a more reliable service.
Finding out which ISP offers the best of
everthing is a little harder to do.
We all take a gamble in life.
😎

It costs Plusnet the same (or near enough) regardless of the speed. There is probably some comparison site(s) where Plusnet want to look competetive against the competition that only compares a few speeds - so they will lower the price of those speeds for a while.
The unfortunate aspect of Plusnet's marketing is that they value gaining new customers above retaining existing customers - making Plusnet's offers look attractive for new customers, while making other ISP's offers look attractive to existing Plusnet customers.
