Slow speeds with Full fibre

Hi we have had Full Fibre for some months now and the biggest mistake. We used to have Plusnet broadband with additional Orbi mesh. The speeds were fab and we could do a lot with multiple devices. I was intrigued about Full Fibre even went so much as to lose my land line. We have 3 floors on the second floor in the far corner of the house we get speeds of 19. The rest of the house on 2nd and third is 110. Even on the TV on the ground floor it  stalls on Netflix and Disney.

The  speed into the house is 230 so it comes in fast but is slow through the walls and floors.

Can I refit my Orbi into the house again with the Plusnet router but no,idea how to do it. Or is there another solution. I am not popular in the house as the whole thing has deteriorated the offer in the house.

PLEASE HELP

@ddonovan2 Almost certainly, can I just check what model orbi you have ?

Then I can suggest the best way to configure it.

Re: Slow speeds with Full fibre

Thank you

it’s Orbi RBR50 master and slave.

Fingers crossed

Re: Slow speeds with Full fibre

OK, so you don't need the hub2 at all. Configure the master rbr50 in router mode with its WAN connection set to  pppoe using your plusnet username ( suffixed with @plusdsl.net ) and password. Then remove the hub2 and connect the master rbr50 directly to the ONT

Re: Slow speeds with Full fibre

OK, there's a easier way if you don't mind keeping the Hub2. I assume you used to have the Orbi in access point mode connected to the old plusnet router?

You can do exactly the same with the Hub 2. Login to the hub2 and disable its wireless,  use the disable all wireless option. The just connect the orbi master to a Hub 2 lan port ( like you did with the old router I assume )

That way the orbi configuration should be the same as before
