We've had the chat about the home phone number, and we're getting close to just ditching it. The fixed IP is arguably more important for my job currently. 

Just a bit half-ar3ed of PN to not have a VoIP offering though. I mean, allow people to port to BTs VoIP service at the very least! Seems like a systemic problem, not a technical one...

I would suggest it's almost certainly a commercial decision made by the BT Group.
