Hi,
I'm looking for some assistance setting up a TP-Link Archer C2300 router with my Plusnet fibre connection.
I have followed the set up instructions that came with the TP-Link router and connected the WAN port to a LAN port on the Plusnet Hub One.
I have a choice of internet connection 'type' including Dynamic, Static, PPPoE and PPPoA.
I have selected PPPoE and entered my broadband dsl username using xxxx@plusdsl.net and the same password used to log into the Member Centre yet I'm still failing to get an internet connection.
Please advise if I have missed anything or suggest an alternative configuration.

That configuration is not going to work, the Hub one is already making the PPPoE connection.
In order to suggest an alternative config , what functionality of the C2300 are you wanting to use ?
BTW if this is a new connection, do you really have a Hub one and not a Hub two ?

I'm trying to set up the TP-Link router in router mode and not AP mode.
There is an option to use the Dynamic Internet connection type, which does allow me an Internet connection on the TP-Link router, it is being assigned a WAN IP address from the 192.168.1.0/24 address space from the Plusnet Hub and router whilst the LAN is using 192.168.0.0/24 with DHCP enabled. I'm guessing this set up will use double NAT which I wanted to avoid.
I'm trying to understand why the PPPoE option is there if I cannot use it considering this model doesn't have an integrated VDSL modem. Would I be able to use it with an external VDSL modem with the PPPoE Internet connection type option?
It's not a new connection, and I'm using a Plusnet Hub One.
Thanks for the help.

The PPOE option is there for you to use when connected to a modem, not a router.
If you want to use the Archer in router mode, you would be better getting a modem, or a router that can be used in bridge mode.

I think @Mustrum just answered that.

Ah! There was a possibility that if it was a new connection , you had a Hub 2, which does support bridge(modem) mode., but I'm afraid the hub 1 doesnt

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll invest in an external modem if required.
Take care and enjoy your evening
