Our home phone relies on power through the copper network. I am aware that if I switch to full fibre the phone will stop working (or need an additional power source) but if I switch to fibre to cabinet will the phone continue to work as at present or will I need a power source as with full fibre?
@richardkendell FTTC still uses the copper cable from the street cabinet to your home, and works as normal. With FTTP, you will not have a landline phone service, rather you will need to set up a VoIP service - currently, PN do not supply this.
FTTC shows up as VDSL. For FTTP you need to see WBC FTTP in the left hand column. If one of hte Alternative FTTP operators has installed a fibre netwrok in your location then your OpenReach connection would be untouched by an install from that source.
