Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

Hi.

How can I divert calls to our home landline to our mobile?  We're away at the moment but having trouble getting at our answerphone messages.   It's not a fault on the landline itself, must be our home phone Itself.   Can anyone advise?.Thanks

Re: Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

Hi there.

You'd need to log into your account then go Here to add call divert to your line.

Once it's active normally within 24 hours, you'd then need to set it up using the steps found Here:

21 diverts all calls
61 diverts calls you don't answer in 15 seconds
67 diverts calls when you're on another call
If you want to...
Set up Call Divert: Press *(Code)*(Number to divert to)#
Check Call Divert: Press *#(Code)#
Turn off Call Divert: Press #(Code)#

Although in order to carry this out, this would need to be done from your home phone handset and not remotely.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

You need to be logged into the portal already for that link to work.

Though that page states that the service is £2.50pcm, you need to dig for other key charging information...

https://www.plus.net/help/legal/plusnet-price-guide-for-residential-products/#phone-price-guide

See Plusnet Phone call features

Call Divert£2.50, plus the cost of the onward call if chargeable

@Gandalf "if chargeable" will the call set-up fee (22p) also be charged?

@TessPlusPJ if you do not have a call plan which includes calls to mobile phones, you might find this an expensive approach. See Plusnet call plans here - https://www.plus.net/help/legal/plusnet-price-guide-for-residential-products/#phone-price-guide

If you do not have an inclusive call plan, even if you quickly tell callers that you will phone them straight back, each call diverted will cost 37p - 22p set-up fee and 15p for a one minute mobile call.

Along side setting up the call divert service, you might find it more cost effective to take a call plan which includes the cost of mobile calls.

Re: Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

Hi All,

Any calls that are diverted by the landline to a mobile would be charged in exactly the same way as if the mobile had been dialled without the divert feature - so if calling the mobile in question would be chargeable under normal circumstances, it would include the setup fee as part of the divert.

As @Gandalf has noted however, someone would need to physically set this up via the handset within the OP's premises in order for this to have the desired effect.

Best wishes

Dave

Re: Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

Thankyou all for your responses.  Seems there is no way around my problem as I cannot physically get to my home landline to set up the divert.  I can see this would be for security purposes, but oh poop!

Thanks for your time, all.

Re: Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

If you have remote access to your answering machine, can you record a new message remotely to call your mobile?

Re: Redirect landline to mobile, temporarily.

For future occasions, perhaps worth considering using Voicemail Extra (enhanced 1571 at £3/month).

It can be linked to a mobile, which will receive a text when a message is waiting. The message can then be accessed remotely.

Details about three quarters down this page - Using Voicemail Extra

Correction - link takes you to "Call Feature FAQs."

Click on "How do I use call features", then "Using Voicemail Extra" is three quartes down the page.
