Good to hear your full fibre install was successful.
Just to confirm that my understanding is that only Openreach can remove the old external PSTN wiring as it belongs to them. 3rd party installers/contractors are not allowed to touch it.
When my FTTP was installed, the M.J. Quinns engineer cut the copper wire where it entered my property and coiled it back to the telegraph pole - it has since been totally removed, presumably by OR. I did ask him if he could tidy up internally by removing the Mk.4/5C socket and wiring - the answer was ' I would, but I've five more jobs to do today, so sorry, not possible' - which I totally understood.

@jab1 - The strange thing is, when I showed him where the `old` copper wire was run through our window frame and it wasn`t even visible inside and had basically been run through by window fitters who could well have knackered my connection, but thankfully they didn`t, he said yes, "that`s all going anyway and will be removed"....apparently though not by him! 🙄
All I can see now is the old BT junction box screwed to the wooden frame where the phone line and BB cables used to plug into, so no doubt it`ll just be an ornament of times gone by until someone decides it needs removing. Same for the old line still running alongside the new line he fitted to the pole outside. Esthetically, it would have been nice to see those taken away.

I do not see OR removing their master sockets and wires anytime soon unless they are forced to do so. They may recover some trunk cabling etc due to the value of the copper if that outweighs the cost of recovery.
Also, I fail to see why phone lines are renumbered when the original one was moved to VOIP and the broadband service moved to fibre when they will no longer sell the copper products to that address. I can only assume that it is easier and cheaper for them to do that rather than disconnect the line.

If anything inside the house was to go "missing" I doubt whether OR will notice or even care.
