That’s actually precisely what we can offer. For those wanting to upgrade to fibre while keeping their phone service, we offer BT broadband and Digital Voice.

Yes but nobody in their right mind would do that, when Zen do SoGEA + Digital Voice for near enough the same price BUT compared to BT's offering also includes a decent router, a static IPv4 address, IPv6 as standard, 18 month contract (not 24), no in contract price rises, 1000 minutes of free calls per month, UK support centre, and terms and conditions that aren't impenetrable gobbledygook !

Personally I will NEVER recommend BT or EE to anyone, both companies are a nightmare to deal with or leave !

Re: Upgrading to FTTP and Porting My Landline Number

The saga of the lack of landline and broadband, the supplied EE minihub (as per 'spreadsheet' somewhere at Plusnet towers), a BT account that I didn't sign up for, and the documentation that came with the minihub that states that instructions would be provided on when to return said minihub (but never arrived).

And the call to Plusnet (over a week ago) with relevant ticket references and a resultant verbal communication that I'd get a call back about this.

Popcorn time.

Re: Upgrading to FTTP and Porting My Landline Number

@RealAleMadrid Alluded to above, it seems to be down to how the gaining provider has processed the request rather than an issue with the process itself.

As the process is gaining provider-led, the gaining provider would need to raise any issues they may be facing with Openreach who can help them resolve.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

So, for the record, A&A eventually managed to recover my landline number, so I do now have SoGEA FTTC broadband via Plusnet, with my original landline number ported in to the A&A VoIP service. However, the process of getting to this state was extremely stressful, and has taken over a week (all without a working landline).

My thoughts on the whole process are documented here
