Re: IPv6 on TG582n

Ideally toy need to use the global one assigned to your router (sorry I don't know where you'd find it on that model), alternatively you could probably port forward to a specific computer that you can leave running.

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

If you run ip iplist on the router you should find a GUA address (2a02:16c8:...) auto-configured on the LAN interface.

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

I'm sending you a PM of the output from that.
The address I've tried to use is the full one starting 2a02:16c8

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

Received! It's the first address in the second list...
(The second address represents the prefix on the LAN i.e. the whole network.

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

That's the one I'm trying.  Sad

It's responding to IPv4 pings:

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

Ah, yes, I must admit I was only assuming it would actually respond to pings. I was going to suggest that we just need to enable the IPv6 ping responder (as per how you do with IPv4) but it looks like it is already enabled by default. Will need to look into it further...

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

TG582n (with USB port) 10.2.0.B works "out of the box".
All I had to change was the username & password.
Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be 81.174.........
Your IPv6 address on the public Internet appears to be 2a02:16c8:......................
Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be PLUSNET PlusNet PLC
Since you have IPv6, we are including a tab that shows how well you can reach other IPv6 sites. [more info]
Good news! Your current configuration will continue to work as web sites enable IPv6.
Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.
Your readiness score
10/10 for your IPv6 stability and readiness, when publishers are forced to go IPv6 only

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

Just tried https://mebsd.com/ipv6-ping-and-traceroute
100% packets lost.
@PeteB have you tried setting up a tbb ping monitor on IPv6?

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

Jelv, it seems you need to actually enable the IPv6 ping responder on the WAN interface:
service system ifadd name=PINGv6_RESP intf=Internet

(the 'enabled' reference in that list must just be for the service itself)
PeteB, nice one! Great to see one that 'just works'!

Re: IPv6 on TG582n

@jelv
IPv4 ping response enabled from the GUI
Toolbox > Firewall > Allow PING on your WAN interface
IPv6 ping response enabled from the router command line in the way MJN suggested
service system ifadd name=PINGv6_RESP intf=Internet
