How to connect to your wireless network - Amazon Kindle

Here we'll show you how to connect an Amazon Kindle to your wireless network.  These steps should work with all Kindle models produced to date.
Although these instructions are written for Plusnet customers using our wireless routers, the same steps should apply with other wireless routers, as long as you know the Wireless Name (SSID) and password.
For further help using your Kindles features, please see Amazon’s online support.

  1. Press the Home button on your Kindle to go to your home screen.  Once there, press the Menu button and select Settings from the list.
  2. On the Settings menu, find Wi-Fi Settings and select View.

If wireless is off, you'll be asked if you want to switch it on, click OK to do so, otherwise go to step 3.
  3. Find your wireless network from the list (it should start with PlusnetWireless) and select Connect. If you can't find your network, select rescan.
  4. You'll be asked for the password. This is the Wireless key (or WPA-PSK key) shown on the bottom of your router. Enter the password and click submit (use the SYM key to enter any numbers or symbols in your password, and the Shift key for uppercase characters).

And that's it! Your Kindle should now be connected to your wireless network. It'll connect automatically when wireless is switched on and the Kindle is in range of your network.
