At the end of my tether. Appalling customer service. Ideas?

Hi all,
I am at the end of my tether. I have done nothing wrong, however Plusnet have made a series of errors and I am now being chased by a debt collection agency. I don't even have an account I can log in to anymore.
For someone who is very careful with money, this is very stressful. I've been assured repeatedly that the issue would be taken care of, until the last time I phoned when the agent clearly had no idea what to do. I asked for a manager call back. They tried once and I missed the call, and I'm now getting messages saying that my complaint will be closed. I can't keep it open because I don't have an account to log into!
Any ideas how I can resolve this mess that Plusnet have created? Just cannot believe that I'm being chased by debt collectors. I owe Plusnet no money and have done nothing wrong at all.
