I'm moving from BT to Plusnet with an activation date of 2nd November. Just noticed that BT have billed me for a full months rental today for the month of November in advance even though I've terminated the contract with them.
Does anyone know if this will get refunded as part of the switch over, or will i need to chase BT to get this refunded?

@scotsman566 Any unused portion of that payment should be refunded once your transfer is complete and BT issue your final invoice.

A bit of clarification. It will be refunded by BT, not Plusnet. Consequently it is best to leave the BT direct debit in place until it has been received.

I do hope that you did not terminate the contract with BT Retail ... rather than leave everything in the hands of Plusnet to arrange the migration?
For a smooth migration it is imperative that the whole process is left with the gaining provider. There are some circumstances where it becomes necessary to terminate the contract with the existing supplier, but that should only happen AFTER the successful commissioning of the new service. Such would apply if changing between ISPs using different infrastructures, as in Virgin or an Altnet provider to an ISP using the BT Wholesale infrastructure.
Terminating with the existing supplier direct could result in a delay to the activation date and a loss of connectivity for several days.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
