We will need to cancel our broadband contract which ends on 31/10 as we are moving abroad on 30th June. If we cancel when we leave (4 mths early) what would the termination costs be and would we be better leaving it until the end of the contract or cancelling it 14 days before the contract ends? Also would we be charged if we don't return the router when we cancel the contract ?

You won't get an answer on here as to costs. You're best bet is to phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632.

There is no penalty charge for leaving early, you pay your monthly contract price less Plusnet’s cost for each remaining month. Consequently you will be better off paying the early termination charge.

Thanks for the advice, will have to decide when I am going to terminate the service. There is some doubt as to whether we have to come back and sign Sale contracts on the property we are selling and may need the phone and internet on for our return but it is good to know that we are better just terminating it as and when we need to before the contract ends.
What about the return of their router? Will we pay a penalty if this does not get returned ?

@DunroaminLeo it depends on when your contract was taken out. If it was before February this year, then you shouldn't need to (but can if you wish) return it.

Our contract was taken out in May 2022. So I take it we do not need to return it. Good.😁

If you wish to return it you can print out a returns lable from PN (postage paid) or, I believe, you can take it to a post office who'll do the necessary.
