Hi all hope this is the right place.
I'm due to move in the next 8 weeks so want to get everything sorted. The site doesn't actually give me much info on what actually happens once I've initiated the move. I understand there might be fees etc and I need to call which I'll get around to doing this week but I wanted to ask, do they just give you an estimated date, and then once they've confirmed you're switched, I just unplug my router from this house and plug it in to my new house and theoretically it should work normally?
Thanks

Hi @Manny90 we aim for your moving date you provided, as long as it is within reason. We will confirm the committed date normally within 72 hours of speaking with us and starting the house move. We advise to give us around 14 days notice. Once we've activated the services at your new property, it is indeed just plug in your router and you'll be up and running.

There are are matters to consider.
What are you currently on - ADSL, FTTC or FTTP?
Is it a new build with FTTP only?
If not a new build is the property currently occupied?
Do you have a landline and is it important to you?

Thanks both.
It's a new build and I'm unsure of what it has but there's a BT openreach box inside. Not sure what I'm currently on, It's fibre optic though. Will be sure to ring this week and check these details.
No landline number.
Thanks

If it is Full Fibre in both properties then it's a like for like move. You don't have to worry about previous owners cancelling the line (which can put a delay on things) or having to sort out a VOIP account for your phone (as OpenReach no longer allow new copper land line connections).
The only thing which might be of concern is as it's a new build this would be a first time activation of the fibre connection. I've heard stories about this going wrong!!!

Hi Brian, Yes that looks familiar, I've not been back to the property for a couple weeks but I'm pretty sure that's what's there.
Is this the thing that you've heard horror stories about? Now I'm worries haha.
Will give PN a call tomorrow to discuss. Thanks

Generally speaking it's OR paperwork not being tune with the start date but occasionally a network issue that needs investigation. So long as you're not first on the site to get connected then the network should be fine (any problems will have been identified and fixed).
Do let us know how the move goes.
