New customers on better deal despite what renewal email says

I’ve just renewed having received an email from PlusNet saying “But don't worry, we have some great offers for you - even new customers can't get better.”.

 

I’ve just discovered that a new customer will get the same service as me for £2 a month less than I’ve just signed up to.


OK, it’s only £2 a month but it’s not what the renewal email said would happen.

This is common new customers will always get better deals even if its same price but 18m vs 24m.

Another reason I am leaving no loyalty reward and more expensive deals plus longer term contract compared to new customers.

I would give them a call to discuss it if you have only just renewed and not happy after speaking with them you have cooling off period you can use to move to another provider.

They are both 24 month contracts so I’m comparing like with like

At the time you signed up, was the THEN new customer price the same at it was at the time you just discovered it is £2 less?

In short is there any possibility that the new customer price changed between the date you signed up and the date you realised that the new customer price is (now) £2 less than yours?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

My current Plusnet Offers on the member centre are £2 more expensive than the new prices being offered by the switching companies who also offer a voucher and cashback (in some cases). (checked last week just before Plusnet decided to bar all Firefox users from the member centre)

Ex - Plusnet Customer (2009 - 2023) now with BT
