Renewal Question - Landline

My contract is ending next month I'm unsure if I'm renewing yet. I currently have a cable land line with PN and from what I can see the renewal offer will still include that landline yes? They still offer a landline for renewals? And I will still be able to choose a call package and such once i start thee renewal process?

@andyhicks88

To make sure of what's on offer call the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632

I believe you can currently renew your contract "as is" but you should know that OpenReach are withdrawing copper landlines (PSTN) in the relatively near future. Personally I believe it's by the end of this year but others think differently.

PN are also withdrawing from providing phone services so the land line will go one way or another soon.

You can transfer your phone service to an independant supplier and stay with PN for internet or move to an ISP who does both.

The end of your contract is a good time to think about such matters.

Re: Renewal Question - Landline

@andyhicks88

If you phone up I think you will get "one more chance to buy" your existing service as is. Don't change anything.

Most likely you will get the new contract term completed but as @bmc states, it's a good time to consider next steps.

The key question is the value you place on the current elements of the service you currently get from Plusnet (broadband, telephony, email & any other "legacy" services).

You could move to BT or a few other ISPs and keep a telephone service (using their supplied router) but would lose email with Plusnet.

If you stay with Plusnet, keeping the telephone service is more complicated as you have to move the number to a different provider and equipment once Plusnet have "upgraded" you.

Continuing the existing service defers decisions for a year or two.

I am the satisfied customer....

Re: Renewal Question - Landline

Hey @andyhicks88 I tried calling you to progress the renewal matter through our Customer Options Team (COT), unfortunately there was no answer and no option to leave a voicemail.

I hope you are well.

As I was unable to speak with you directly, like @bmc said, I advise you to please contact our COT team on 08000132632 to discuss this further.

We look forward to hearing from you soon
