I've just been invited to renew my contract. Currently I'm on Unlimited Fibre with estimated DL speed of 36mb @ £24pm. The new price will be £26 inc landline. I've been offered an "Upgrade) to fibre without a phoneline (in preparation for the big switchoff), with an estimated DL speed of 17-19mb for the same price. Can anyone explain how a slower speed and no landline can possibly be an upgrade? Many thanks

@Petercaulf The word to take notice of is estimated, I generally ignore any estimated information. What is your actual router sync speed, if you are happy with that you should get exactly the same speed on the confusing named "Fibre" service which is the same FTTC that you have but with no voice service.
However a higher price for losing your phone service is a pretty poor deal. I have new contract offer for Fibre about £1 less per month but I'm keeping the phone until it is finally withdrawn.
