Change activation date / early activation

I'm due to move into a new house on the 3rd of may, but unfortunately the earliest activation that I was given is the 17th. I won't be home then, but I can't find a way to reschedule it!

Also, I was wondering on what are the chances to activate my account before the engineer's visit, as I've seen some posts on that regard.

Thanks!

@draga  I can see you've spoken to one of our Provisioning advisors and got this date rearranged. Has this now been sorted?

Re: Change activation date / early activation

Yes, it has been rearranged. However, it's even further forward now, and I was hoping to understand if it's possible at all to get started before then with what's already installed in the house. The previous owners had BT fiber, but maybe not full?

Re: Change activation date / early activation

@draga I've spoken with the Suppliers, and they've confirmed that an ONT is already at the property but they're not able to take over the existing connection. This is why an engineer is needed. The 30th May is the earliest slot, the FTTP engineer appointments are like gold dust.

Re: Change activation date / early activation

Thank you. Will I be able to have the point installed on the first floor of the house for better coverage?

Re: Change activation date / early activation

@draga  It will be where the existing ONT is installed, usually near to where fibre enters the property.

I would be very surprised if the Openreach engineer would be keen to run new fibre to a different location and reconnect to the external fibre line. The ONT is just a connection point so you can put the router anywhere you want but it will need an ethernet cable to connect it to the ONT.
