Rummage all you like, but currently "Fibre 74" isn't something that PlusNet seem to offer/define. 🙃 Which is why I'm confused.....

Not disputing what say, @Mustrum - but as I understand it, Fibre (the FTTC product does not give a value, as it is provisioned as 'up to' 80Mb/s - in other words, whatever your connection can handle up to the 80Mb/s the FTTC circuits are capped at by OR.

Fibre (74) is a SOGEA service. The 74 just dictates it can in theory receive a speed of up to 74mbps.
Adding the word 'Full' in front makes it becomes a FTTP service.
The FTTC packages are named 'Unlimited Fibre' and 'Unlimited Fibre Extra'.

Fair enough, @Gandalf - although I thought the SoGEA FTTC was supposed to be unrestricted - up to the 80Mb/s 'cap' applied by OR?

Not quite true, if the line isnt capable of >40Mb then, apparently, it MAY be provisioned on a 40Mb profile.
As has been said above, there's only one Plusnet product, called Fibre BUT maybe internally, and so possibly advised in tickets, there would appear to be a Fibre 74 (for the 80Mb provision) and a Fibre 38? (for the 40Mb)
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Engineer has arrived and is currently working out how to overcome various "issues", so it might not complete today.
He does seem clear on what type of connection though, definitely NOT FTTP! 😂

Semantic quibble.
Does "full fibre" imply that fibre is being using for the whole network path? Between any end points?

@greygit1 Exactly that - although it doesn't 'imply' - that is exactly what it is.

Not so long ago Fibre meant end to end, the other options were either kilostream or ADSL.............

Just to close this off, all is running well and the router syncs at typically 62/12mbps. Speed tests in the mid-high fifties for downloads, i.e. "Very fast".
