Database won't accept surname for bt switch

Hi there

I tried switching BT Home Essentials. My surname is a single letter. Unfortunately neither plusnet nor bt could enter a single letter when checking my national insurance number.
I asked if I could send a photo of my dwp entitlement letter as proof but it can't be done that way.

Can anyone help please?
