Re: Leaving old provider during cooling off period

Thank you @Townman, that does makes sense, even though I don't need the landline. I wish there's an option to go ahead without one to speed things up.

I would appreciate if a Plusnet staff could provide me an update on my order. Today is the last day of my cooling off period with Vodafone and I've had no other emails from Plusnet since placing my order on the 27th March.

Re: Leaving old provider during cooling off period

@gspn  Not sure why you think you don't need the landline, your FTTC Broadband is supplied over it. Unless you have a Full Fibre connection.

Following on from your previous post about the VOIP adapter connected to the master socket by an Openreach engineer who didn't know what he was doing.

Is there any other connection in your master socket? If not how is the router connected to the phone line. Could you explain your setup in terms of how it is connected up. Have you another socket or a box that the router is connected to.

@Townman  I agree with your points ii & iii but currently I don't think there any phonelines without an e-side, it may happen in the future when cables get recovered and recycled.

Re: Leaving old provider during cooling off period

@RealAleMadrid maybe I'm mixing the terminology and causing confusion, and that's my mistake. I meant to say I wish I could go ahead without a phone to save an engineer from coming out to perform any specific work just to get a phone service up moving connection points from Vodafone to Plusnet as Townman suggested. In hope that, that would speed up the broadband setup.

There's only a single master socket in the property and the router was connected directly to it.

Re: Leaving old provider during cooling off period

Vodafone confirmed they will cancel within the next 48 hours, apparently the delay was with Openreach.

They also said that the "line will be left open for any other WLTO (Working Line Takeover) by any other service provider". I hope that speeds things up for my Plusnet order.
