New Order

Hi, I am joining plusnet and my broadband is due to go live this Saturday the 17th August

I was surprised the router had not been dispatched yet in my account but then searched this and saw articles and posts in here about it being delivered a day or 2 before using a 'just in time' method'

With the go live date being a Saturday and the state and reliability of royal mail at the moment thought this does have me a little concerned as I cannot afford to have the broadband go down for the weekend

Is there anything that can be done to double check or expedite router dispatch a little? Already if it was dispatched now the earliest would be arriving Wednesday (Thursday, Friday and go live day Saturday) so it seems very tight and is a bit concerning

Re: New Order

@mjppadiham Hubs are despatched via RM Tracked24, which has high priority. You will receive a notification of the despatch by email and/or text, which will include the tracking number

@mjppadiham

When it is dispatched you get an e-mail to tell you which contains a Royal Mail tracking number.

What router do you have at the moment. PN has always been happy for customers to use their own equipment if suitable.

Re: New Order

Thanks that's interesting! I'm currently on talk talk fibre 65 with the TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub

So if this is compatible would this work automatically after the switch or would I need to enter the new credentials / reconfigure should the plusnet router be late?

Re: New Order

In that case, you will have to wait for/use the Hub2 - the TT Hub is locked to that ISP.

@mjppadiham

You will need to reconfigure the PN router so it uses your current WiFi network id - that or change all your devices.

Re: New Order

@bmc The OP has an incompatible TALKTALK hub.

Re: New Order

@jab1

I appreciate that he currently has an incompatible router.

However the PN router will be set with its own WiFi SSID while the OP's devices will be using something else.

One or the other needs to be reconfigured.

Re: New Order

Fair enough, @bmc , but that point has not been raised as a question by the OP - yet, and depends on hoe 'connected'  his home is.
