Still waiting for new router

Hi,

I upgraded my original broadband package for full fibre on the 15th August but even though the engineer came out on the 27th as confirmed, I am still waiting for the new router to arrive. So I seem to be paying for a service that I'm not even getting at the moment. Anyone any ideas how long it usually takes for the router to arrive? Never had an issue with my old package & I remember that router arriving very quickly

Re: Still waiting for new router

@neil576  Welcome to the forum.

Hubs are sent by first class post so it’s probably stuck in the postal strike.  If you have a hub one then you can use this, be it with performance limitations, just connect the ONT to the red WAN port.

Re: Still waiting for new router

Which router do you have now?

You could use that if the fibre is active - have you had confirmation?

Re: Still waiting for new router

Thanks for the reply. I did wonder about that but I would have thought that it would have been sent before the engineer turned up (which was 12 days after the order was placed). Trying to get hold of someone at Plusnet but having to wait in a ridiculously long queue on the phone, when you have young kids, is not great.

Re: Still waiting for new router

I'm using the original Plusnet Hub One router.

I'll give the Hub One a go then. I was told by the engineer that it wouldn't work with full fibre

Re: Still waiting for new router

Fix

You just need to disconnect the DSL/phone cable, and connect a Lan cable from the WAN port to the ONT/new fibre box.

Re: Still waiting for new router

Brilliant, thank you. Now up & running again. Also had an email advising that my new router is now on its way.

Great, happy I was able to help. Suggest you do the lottery or something - they say good things come in threes!

I kicked this one for you. I'm also having somebody look into why it wasn't sent as it should have been.

Apologies for the hassle.
