I've just been upgraded to FTTP on the Full Fibre 500 Product. I live in a 3 storey townhouse, so the wifi signal as I move up the house vertically slowly disappears. I have hard wired as many devices as I can but the wifi as I move up the house isn't great..
I'm looking at the Deco X50 mesh system to improve the vertical distribution of the wifi signal. So I have a few hopefully simple questions.
1. Do I simply plug one of the Deco pods into an ethernet socket on my router, turn wifi off on the hub 2 and then connect the other 2 deco pods around the house to boost the wifi?
2. Do I need to put my Plusnet ID and Password into the Dec App in this scenario?
3. Will my SONOS system, which uses it's own mesh still work with this setup?
All thoughts gratefully received.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

You can put the Hub Two in a draw for safe keeping
You connect the ONT to the Deco devices WAN port and configure it for a PPPoE, using your broadband username and password.
You would use the Deco app to make the changes
There is no requirement for a VLAN tag.
If you use the existing wireless name then there will be no requirement to reconfigure wireless devices
Edit: if possible use a wired connection between the mesh nodes

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any idea if my Sonos system will still work with it?

I see no reason why the Sonos system would not work as it connects via a wireless connection.
The VLAN is a default setting on the ONT (sometimes seen as fibre modem) and can not changed by the end user (you). You just need to avoid setting up another one in your router settings. If the setting does not exist on the Deco then I would not worry about it.

Although it would cost a bit have you considered running an external cable to the upper floor(s) terminated with ethernet wall sockets. One cable to the top floor or two cables, one for each foor.
This gives a solid starting point on each floor plus may even add value to the property.
