Re: Help with setting up security cameras/static IP

@salcalvert

 tplink vr2100.  Engineer said it wouldnt work with plusnet fibre, we tried and it didnt

Take a look at this post

https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Tp-link-2100-No-internet/m-p/1973331#M38715

There should be no need to reset the device.

@salcalvert he was wrong! it will, you just need to switch it to 'wireless router mode' first. Then LAN port 4 becomes a WAN port to which you can connect the ONT.  See page 18 of the manual here https://static.tp-link.com/manual/2021/202106/20210624/1910013055_Archer%20VR2100_UG_REV1.0.1.pdf

Its got to be worth giving it a try...

Are you happy you know the configuration details for Plusnet ?

edit: Dan beat me to it...

Re: Help with setting up security cameras/static IP

@salcalvert note that the VR2100 has a default LAN IP address of 192.168.1.1 so where the DVR has currently got 192.168.1.254 as the gateway that will need to be changed to 192.168.1.1

Re: Help with setting up security cameras/static IP

Hi, to cut a long story short, yes we’ve gone back to the old router and got it all working last night just in time. Thanks ever so much for all your help everyone here but the plusnet router was just not to be.

Re: Help with setting up security cameras/static IP

@salcalvert have you gone back to the original DDNS settings ?

Would you mind posting the portforwarding settings you now have?

I'd like to get to the bottom of why the Hub 2 didn't work and the VR2100 does.
