In that case, just report a fault again
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Plusnet arranged the installation so guess it was Openreach. Tina did request that if the issue returned that I resurrect this thread and she will pick it up again. Hopefully this will be the case again instead of raising another support ticket?

@Surfer I did tag Tina earlier, so maybe she or one of her colleagues will spot this and take some action. If/when they do, and hopefully send an engineer out, it may be an idea to ask them if they can locate the MS more sensibly.

Thanks for taking my call this morning, as we discussed we have arranged an engineer visit you.
Once this visit is complete, we can monitor and see if the drops continue.
Have a nice day.

Engineer came on Wednesday changed the router, changed the cabling, changed the connection box and still no Internet. He had to give up as it seems the fault is elsewhere.
We had a phone call yesterday stating that it would be resolved by Saturday. Not sure if they make an appointment when they are going to fix the issue if the issue is between the exchange and the home. As we no longer have a landline, we cannot make calls as per are in a poor reception area for mobile calls and I have to drive a mile up the road if I need to upload anything. More upsetting for OH is that she cannot watch any streamed programs. Not sure what to do if we have a medical emergency?
I think we are all too reliant on the Internet to resolve all our issues until it goes faulty

Hey @Surfer,
"Not sure if they make an appointment when they are going to fix the issue if the issue is between the exchange and the home."
I apologize that the first engineer was unable to resolve the fault. The engineer has escalated the issue to Openreach yesterday. They have found that the fault is external, so no engineer will need to visit your property. We should receive a report from the engineer within 1-2 working days. If an engineer has not been dispatched today, they should definitely be on-site by monday. Once we receive the engineer’s report, we will update you via the open fault ticket on your account.

Although no need to visit the property, it would be nice to know when they are going to resolve the fault. Very frustrating when you cannot even make a simple phone call without leaving the property. We have no issue with receiving text messages, but voice calls when in our home are very bad as most times you need to ask the person calling to repeat themselves due to the connection being very poor. Our Smartphones are as much good as a paperweight! LOL! 😀

Sadly the outsider engineer has corrected the fault by the street box, but still no Internet. A test by him shows a speed of 66mbps to the router. The engineer is at a loss as router, connection box and cable have been replaced. The report shows that there is No Service from Plus Net? Is there anything I should be doing with the router? Thanks.

Where did the engineer demonstrate this speed to the router - on what equipment?

Problem resolved. The first technician did not change the login details on the router. Plus the outside fault.
