Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

@mort7890

Line cord error would be the phone not detecting a dial tone.

CTRL +F5 is required.

For Advanced Diagnostics for Fibre/SoGEA you will need the BBEU number as you no longer have a Telephone number (DN), maybe the BBEU number is found in your account details via the members centre or your recontract email.

As advised raise a fault as you are below your MSG (Minimum Guaranteed Speed)

Please do not get side tracked by the buffer bloat test now, the Hub two does not have a very good rating, it's not a gaming router

@mort7890 Re the Bufferbloat - I don't know much about that - you need @Anonymous , or some other poster with more knowledge for that.

The actual speed will not improve until OR have sorted the cab.

Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

Hi @MisterW

Thought my response and question in a reply to my change of account would have triggered the fault but nothing has transpired from 10.46am today and looking at the faults page I have to report by text, hate this idea preferf to speak to a person not a bot as they don't understand seniors (80 this year)

Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

Hi @Dan_the_Van

Line cord error was a side issue as it has been with me for years and reported but that is now finished as phone ceased.

ctrl+f5 did not work either in the BT site or the PN site

No BBEU number anywhere

Thought my reply regarding my account would have raised a fault at 10.46am today but still no response

Don't do gaming at all but thought I would just check anyway

Hi @jab1

QoS is another area I am not sure about is this in yor remit also what do you think about the IP for the default gateway

I have also tried to attach a picture of the ookla speed test but I get cannot send as that is a virus

Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

Jack, QoS is another area I am not familiar with, but it cannot be implemented on PN Hubs, anyway.

It is pointless doing any further speed tests until the cab connection is checked and corrected.

its correct, the gateway does not have a publicly routable address

Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

Hi @jab1

Router showed a disconnection again this AM around 05.00 and speed dropped slightly and as I had heard nothing from PN I rang them. They tested my line and found that it was showing a resistance so engineer arranged for Monday AM

Cheers, Jack. Just make sure it is OK before you let the engineer go.

Re: New to fibre settings for TP-Link ac 1200

Hi @jab1

FYI engineer arrived this morning found a fault on the incoming cable in the property, in his opinion it has been faulty for a long time but the provider PN will not have noticed the fault until I changed products which I have. he rectified the cable fault then also changed the master socket as he was also unsure of that as it was ancient. Speed now 63 Mbps DL &                 20 Mbps UL.

Sounds like you've cracked it , Jack . Keep an eye on it for a couple of days, and report back if you have any concerns.
