I believe that is the case, unfortunately I can not recall what the improvements were for each version, most were enhancements but no changes to performance or security.

I wouldn't know either, @Dan_the_Van  - I switched direct from a TG582N on ADSL to a Fritz!Box on FTTC with Zen, 😉

This exact issue happened for me. To cut to the chase, I had a 1 hour session with a lovely chap from Plusnet support and we (mostly him) eventually had it up and running. Basically, it won't work until it is registered with them and for me we had to change the router password.

The bottom line is that I now have much improved Wi-Fi coverage, and if I also lose the drop-outs then I will be a very happy bunny!
