Set-up Huawei HG612

Hi

I am trying to set-up a Asus RT-AC88U router to mu Plusnet broadband and was advised that the easiest way would be to use Huawei HG612 modem. I purchased a secondhand modem but can't seem to get any connection from the modem to the laptop to set-up, I am basically falling at the first hurdle.

Are there any bright people who might have come across this before and can point me in the right direction?

I am trying to use a ThinkPad laptop via a docking station to get the set-up done.

If it’s an ex Openreach version it shouldn’t need any setting up. If you’ve been tinkering with the settings then factory reset it.
