VPN Routers compatible with Plusnet Fullfibre

Please reply if you are running a 3rd party router that supports OpenVPN as a client and works on the Plusnet FullFibre network?

I’m looking to purchase & install asap (Not interested in workarounds etc!) Would be nice to compare costs & features?

Re: VPN Routers compatible with Plusnet Fullfibre

I'm not sure what you mean by workarounds, but for years I've run OpenVPN on previous generations of boxes before these.

If I needed to upgrade today to do what you're asking for, personally I'd probably get the N100 version of this

If I was providing an OpenVPN firewall box for friends or family I'd choose something less industrial looking such as this

HTH

Fix
I'm using a Unifi Gateway, plugged directly into the ONT, it works like a dream, handling two site to site VPNs.

Re: VPN Routers compatible with Plusnet Fullfibre

Is anyone using a third party router and just using the Plusnet router as a modem (bridged mode)?

Just wondering about performance & reliability?

You can do this, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. You'll lose the wireless functionality of the hub and add an extra link in the chain that could fail. Connection details to configure your own router are available in the My Account area. The ONT is effectively a modem itself.

What I mean, by workarounds, is that I’m seeking a dedicated, high performing, fully tested & certified VPN service. Not something cobbled together or hacked etc!

Re: VPN Routers compatible with Plusnet Fullfibre

I was looking towards a MESH wireless setup which is far superior to the hub 2’s wireless capabilities. Plus, I need a dedicated VPN solution. I would not be a failure point, it would be advantageous with the correct hardware & add many capabilities to the Local network.

The Gli.net Flint2 router gets lots of good reviews.

Re: VPN Routers compatible with Plusnet Fullfibre

@Waynewhistle  The Hub2 in modem mode cannot be used on an FTTP service where the Openreach ONT is effectively the Fibre modem. Your router connects directly to the ONT.

Thank you all for the info. I have been looking for my routers login credentials, I was told that they are in “My Account” but I have not found them?
