Worth a repost - the Plusnet Hub Two only has three LAN ports

I’m sure this is well known but if I hadn’t found this thread I’d still be unable to connect my SoHo computers after getting my new Hub Two router.

I think I spent four hours trying various things, including direct connections but with no luck. I’d still like to know why we can’t repurpose the WAN port to act as a forth link as I’m now unable to use one of the network points in my house? This is a step back from the Plusnet Hub One and one that Plusnet should address.

@BrizzleRocker The 4th port is a dedicated WAN port to accommodate the ONT which will be needed when you move to Full Fibre.

I understand that it is fairly easy to overcome this minor inconvenience by purchasing a a switch, my understanding is that a 4-port one is around the £10-15 mark.

Ironically it was a 4 port switch I was connected through! As I understand it the BT equivalent hub allows for the 4th port but due to the firmware, the Plusnet one doesn’t.

So - move to a bigger switch. Although I don't need one, I looked at prices/specs when a specific one was mentioned in one of the topics you have responded to, merely out of curiosity.

When I move to FF - if I do - I will lose the guest access port on my Fritz!Box 7350, which won't be an issue.
