We recently launched a competition for one lucky business to win the amazing chance of having their logo on the GP2 car of budding British driving star, Jordan King, alongside our own. And we are pleased to announce that the winner is the Devon-based Florist Simply Flowers, owned and founded by Kate Bainbridge. The company’s logo was broadcast globally whilst on show at the last two races of the season in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. As a champion of small businesses as part of our business broadband provision, Plusnet offered this opportunity with the aim of helping another community-spirited and local business flourish. Simply Flowers, based has been running since 2007 and has gone on to have great success at annual horticultural event, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, winning a Gold Medal award back in 2012. And Kate advised Plusnet that it was a ‘dream’ and that the experience was ‘unreal’. “It’s an exciting opportunity for my small business to be represented alongside such big brands. To be seen on such a worldwide stage is amazing. We could only dream of this much exposure. “This has really spurred us on to develop our social media marketing. This is such a growth area and so responsive. We have benefited already from the posts that have gone live. “It was completely surreal! I didn’t even believe it when I found out that I had won the competition so to see the logo on the car is crazy! Our new logo looks awesome and to see it zooming around Bahrain and UAE is unreal.” Jordan also took time out of his busy schedule to visit Kate in Devon, where she unveiled a floral showpiece of his car, and the Plusnet logo, as part of her celebration. On Jordan, Kate said: “It’s so great to have met Jordan. He clearly has a great future ahead of him and to have our business associated with such a great young British talent is a fabulous opportunity. I was lucky to have great mentors when I started out and it really helps. Kate also admits she watched the final two races of the season: “Of course! As big racing fans we were glued to the TV and willing him to win.” Part of the competition prize was also free Plusnet business broadband for a year and Kate advises that this will come in very hand as she looks to make her company bloom. “The Plusnet package alone will be so beneficial and make daily business tasks so much easier with the superfast broadband, enabling us to make our flower orders direct with growers and keeping up to date with current trends and starting new ones.” Did you watch the GP2 Season?
