Every year Best Companies and The Sunday Times work together to publish the Best 100 Companies to work for list. Over 140,000 employees across the UK have completed a survey in the last few months to reveal what they really think of their employers!
For the first time in our history PlusNet applied for the 2008 awards. Since our initial application in September last year I've spent what seems like the majority of my life completing questionnaires and surveys explaining the very workings of PlusNet. Every employee received a survey to complete and give their views on what it's really like to work at PlusNet Towers.
653 companies applied for the 2008 awards and, although the official Top 100 is not published until March, we've found out how we got on.
Unfortunately we didn't make the Top 100 this year but we fared pretty well for a first attempt. We achieved recognition with a 1* status - less than half the companies who applied got this level of recognition:
142 companies received 1* - first class
117 companies received 2* - outstanding
48 companies received 3* - extraordinary
Only one other Sheffield-based company were awarded star status and we're delighted to have been recognised as a Best Company to work for.
