Re: 1 Month and counting ......

After a Month of this I thought I was getting somewhere but apparently not!
I have now had 2 articles in the local press, I have contacted CEOs of all companies involved twice, my local MP is on the case and the action taken? Nothing!!!
I have been contacted by a "Complaints Advisor" from Plusnet and initially it sounded promising, advised that BT where going to do the pole work for completion on the 26th Feb. I told him this was unacceptable and he agreed and promised he would push BT to get the work done sooner and would update me on a daily basis. The last update I had was on Friday 19th and have chased every day since just to be told that there is no update from BT.
No work has yet been done and Tomorrow is the 26th!!!

That's what happens when there is a monopoly such is OR, regardless of any type of external pressure it's a case of 'You can't tell us what to do, we will do it when we're ready'.
They're maybe not bowing to the pressure simply because it was a provincial paper with a limited reader base, thus limiting the 'bad press' exposure, but the TV stations do like a good 'underdog' story, maybe they should be your next port of call.

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

I was thinking the same - I've just checked and there's no comments open on the BBC's main story about the OFCOM report.
Contacting Sky News might be a good move - they would be more likely to run a story about dire OpenReach performance.
http://news.sky.com/story/1648301/ofcom-bt-must-open-up-its-openreach-network is open for comments.

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Any sign of the engineers yet, as today's the day, not only for the Teddy Bears picnic but you get your pole replaced.

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Ah, they may replace the pole today but it will be another three weeks before they send someone to attach any wires to it!

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Well I have been assured that they are doing the pole and cabling Today  Smiley
Not sure I believe that, however when I drove past at about 8:30 there was an Openreach van (with cherry picker) there, engineer reading newspaper Huh
So we will see.

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Man with cherry picker will be to attach the wires. He will probably get fed up waiting and go away shortly before the lorry comes with the new pole!

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Just looking through the event log on my router and before the fault I was getting:
15:07:38, 23 Jan. ( 110.090000) DSL noise margin: 6.00 dB upstream, 3.00 dB downstream
15:07:38, 23 Jan. ( 109.620000) DSL line rate: 903 Kbps upstream, 3703 Kbps downstream
an now I have got:
00:34:35, 27 Feb. (37948.330000) DSL noise margin: 6.30 dB upstream, 2.70 dB downstream
00:34:34, 27 Feb. (37947.860000) DSL line rate: 472 Kbps upstream, 1015 Kbps downstream
Is there any way of resetting this or is it just a matter of waiting?

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Darn it, a useless BTB HH4 disclosing no useful line data to indicate any potential issue with a BT line....

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

Seeing this in log every 10 or so hours :
23:24:10, 27 Feb. (120123.170000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]
And the speed is renegotiated, was going up slowly but is now coming down (down to 870kps now) is this normal?

Re: 1 Month and counting ......

This might be due to your neighbours router / modems doing the same as you may all came on line on the same day or time if left on.
