Re: Interleaving

Ok, that's fine.
Out of curiosity - are you connecting via a network cable of by wireless?  If wireless, does it make any difference if you try using a wire instead?

Re: Interleaving

Whether it helps with gaming depends on what the problem is. An interleaved line will be more stable, but will have a higher latency - ie greater 'ping' time.
A gamer will normally prefer a non-interleaved line for the lower latency, but the line may not be stable enough.
A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine

As mention on my other thread the router is no way near the PS3 so i cant really test it as there no phone line..

Re: Interleaving

I have though about upgrading to the Plusnet Pro Package that seem to aim for gamers but am worried that it would make any different from the Option 2 that i am on now

Re: Interleaving

It shouldn't make a great difference with PS3 gaming as the gaming traffic will already be prioritised.

Re: Absolute Disgrace

I've just reviewed your two topics and am now very suspicious that your problems are to do with the fact that you connect to your router wirelessly and that in fact there is nothing wrong with your Plusnet line.

Re: Absolute Disgrace

It could be anything really.
There could be something that has recently been brought into your area that is causing interference, or something that has developed a fault thats causing exactly the same thing.
If you can't try using a wired connection, you shoulod at least try to use a different wireless channel, such as 5.

Re: Interleaving

Could you get a long ethernet cable just to make sure?
I appreciate that having cables trailing around is a pain, but if it's just to test and also something that might fix the problem, then I reckon it would be worth a go.

Re: Interleaving

Not "bad" as such.
But as you need a solid connection for your gaming with the highest quality signal, you should generally look to a wired connection as that is nopt hampered by any form of interference.

Re: Interleaving

if you are a long way from the router and there are wall in the way, you can half you line speed, with an ethernet cable up to nearly 100m no drop
